But as and when I went into a deeper research, I realized I was WRONG. Yes, I was wrong coz they (travel agents) definitely have a better edge over the online travel agents. The neighborhood agents will try their best to resolve the issue as soon as possible and at least you have a person to get hold of.
3. A myth that OTA are cheap and transparent A myth that you see all the rates on the screen doesn’t mean the rates are transparent and best. So how can you say they are transparent? Simply because they claim to give best rate on your screen doesn’t give enough grounds to their claim of being transparent. Many comparison sites like Trivago have popped up due to the price differentiation. At times travel agents have contracted rates which are better than OTA rates and are able to provide at much cheaper price. This applies in airlines too where you can avail fixed departures at much lower rates the displaying on the screen.
4. Customization OTA can’t provide customization while Travel agents can customize as per your requirement.

So in my opinion do consult a neighborhood travel agent before booking on any OTA. This will give you better results making your trip smooth and cheap.
